Admission arrangements
Parents/Carers wishing to transfer their child to The Blyth Academy should contact the School Admissions Department at Northumberland County Council in the first instance, following this a Transfer Request Form will be issued for completion, which should be returned to the Admission Teams, County Hall, Morpeth, Northumberland NE61 2EF or contact the team on 0345 600 6400.
If there are places available in the specified year group, the Academy will receive the admissions request from the admissions team. A member of the senior leadership team at the academy will contact you to arrange a pre-admission meeting. During this meeting you and your son/daughter will be given important information about the academy expectations as well as a guided tour of the academy building.
The academy team will make contact with your child’s previous school for information regarding attendance, academic ability and other relevant background information about the transfer request. The Principal will make the final admissions decision and you will be notified in writing of the outcome and if you have been successful you will be given a planned start date.
Whenever changes to admissions arrangements are proposed (except where the change is an increase to the agreed admission number), the governing board will publicly consult on these changes for a minimum of 6 weeks between 1 October and 31 January before the following February publication date.
