⚠️ Online Safety Alert

We would like to make parents and carers aware of an emerging online safety concern involving AI-generated ‘fruit’ and ‘vegetable’ videos appearing on short-form video platforms.

While these videos can initially look colourful, humorous and ...child-friendly, some have been found to contain disturbing storylines, graphic violence, domestic abuse themes and extremist references. Their cartoon-like appearance can make harmful content difficult to recognise at first.

We encourage parents and carers to:
• Talk regularly with children about what they are watching online.
• Be aware of the apps and short-form video feeds they use.
• Use parental controls, age settings and content filters.
• Encourage children to report or block upsetting content.
• Reassure children that they can always talk to a trusted adult if they see something that worries or upsets them.

Please remember: content that looks child-friendly isn’t always suitable for children.

🧪 Science in Action! 🔬

Our Year 8 students have been getting practical in science, investigating which materials make the best insulators.

Students tested different materials, collected their results and used their scientific knowledge to decide which was most effective at ...reducing heat loss.

A great example of practical science, teamwork and problem-solving in action! 🌡️👏
