Academy closure and guidance for key workers

Following the Government announcement to close schools, all Northern Education Trust academies will be closed to the significant majority of students from the end of the school day on 20th March 2020 until further notice.

To enable us to plan effectively we need your support to find out how many children we can expect from families with key workers.

The government has published guidance on which occupations fit into the key worker category. However, given the number of vulnerable students we need to provide emergency childcare for and our current staffing capacity, we are only able to provide a limited provision for children of key workers and have therefore prioritised the occupations as we are unfortunately unable to support all categories.

Please read the letter above carefully and if you believe you are eligible for emergency childcare as a key worker/s then please complete respond with your details if you believe the academy should provide childcare. Where more than one parent/carer is a key worker, please provide details for both.

Please note – the timings of the school day will remain unchanged. Your child does not need to wear school uniform but in all other respects the academy will still be adhering to our expectations for learning policy so that some ‘normality’ can be maintained under very difficult circumstances for both students and staff.

Please complete the form electronically wherever possible by no later than noon on Sunday 22 March.
