Students at The Blyth Academy, one of ten secondary Academies sponsored by Northern Education Trust, have achieved their best ever GCSE results. The increase in students achieving a good grade in English and Maths makes Blyth one of the most improved schools in the country.

An amazing 64% of students overall achieved a pass in English and Maths, demonstrating an improvement of an incredible 32% over a two-year period.

There were some outstanding individual successes:

Aaron Patmore achieved 2 x Grade 9s, 3 x Grade 8s and 2 x Grade 7s.
Dylan Monaghan achieved 6 x Grade 8s and 1 Grade 7.
Victoria Armstrong achieved 3 x Grade 8s and 4 x Grade 7s.

Donna Park, Principal of The Blyth Academy thanked the students and staff for their efforts and commitment, saying: “I am delighted that the hard work and commitment of our students has been rewarded with these outstanding results.
